Part of a flight or the end of one? (7)
I believe the answer is:
landing
'part of a flight' is the definition.
(part of a flight of stairs)
'the end of one?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'one?' could be 'an' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'an' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'or' is the link.
(Other definitions for landing that I've seen before include "Level area between stair flights" , "Coming down to earth" , "Touching down" , "A gap between flights" , "Catching" .)
