Part of brain from large mammal found in front of learning centre (11)
I believe the answer is:
hippocampus
'part of brain' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'large mammal found in front of learning centre' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'mammal' could be 'hippo' (hippo is a kind of mammal) and 'hippo' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'campus' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'from' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for hippocampus that I've seen before include "part of the brain?" , "A bit of brain brings" , "Might this emotional centre" , "area of the brain" , "One needs a bit of brain" .)
