Ross

I believe the answer is:

park lane

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'part of london' is the definition.
I know that 'london' relates to this answer.

'transport containing rescue centre' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'transport' could be 'ark' (ark is a kind of transport) and 'ark' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'plane' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for park lane that I've seen before include "London street - with 22d" , "road outside Dorchester hotel" , "Expensive Monopoly property" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
