I believe the answer is:
gable
'part' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Part of house' mean 'gable' so perhaps 'part' could also mean 'gable')
'fit for golf' is the wordplay.
'fit' becomes 'able' (similar in meaning).
'for' means one lot of letters go next to another (I've seen this in other clues).
'golf' becomes 'g' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'able' put after 'g' is 'GABLE'.
'of the building where one gets' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
