Pay the price for a little poetry (4)
I believe the answer is:
foot
'pay the price' is the definition.
'foot' can be an answer for 'pay' (as in footing the bill). I am unsure of the 'the price' bit.
'for a little poetry' is the wordplay.
'a little' means to remove the last letter (the word is not quite complete).
'poetry' becomes 'ot' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'for' with its final letter taken off is 'fo'.
'fo'+'ot'='FOOT'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for foot that I've seen before include "12 inches" , "Measure - part of body" , "Distance to the end of a limb?" , "support" , "An imperial length or body part" .)
