Ross

I believe the answer is:

maple syrup

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'sweet liquid' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.

'pear plums and yogurt basically mixed' is the wordplay.
'and' says to put letters next to each other.
'basically' says to take the initial letters (the first letter could be its root or base).
'mixed' indicates anagramming the letters.
The first letter of 'yogurt' is 'y'.
'pear'+'plums'+'y'='pearplumsy'
'pearplumsy' with letters rearranged gives 'MAPLE SYRUP'.

'with' is the link.

(Another definition for maple syrup that I've seen is " Sticky (Canadian?) foodstuff".)

I've seen this clue in The Hindu.
