Pensive - about wanting a family? (6)
I believe the answer is:
broody
'pensive' is the definition.
(I know that pensive can be written as broody)
'wanting a family?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'family?' could be 'brood' (I've seen this before) and 'brood' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'y' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'about' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for broody that I've seen before include "Morbidly thoughtful" , "Ready to incubate eggs" , "Ready and wanting to have children" , "Pensive" , "Thoughtful, unhappy" .)
