Ross

I believe the answer is:

dominate

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'control' is the definition.
(dominating is a kind of controlling)

'perform with partner keeping' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'perform' could be 'do' ('do' can be a synonym of 'perform') and 'do' is found in the answer.
'partner' could be 'n' and 'n' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'in' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for dominate that I've seen before include "Look down on; have control over" , "Master" , "Govern" , "Admit one in order to be in control" , "Rule" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
