Performing with an academic chap continuously (2,3,2)
I believe the answer is:
on and on
'continuously' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'performing with an academic chap' is the wordplay.
'performing' becomes 'on' (as in being on stage).
'with' says to put letters next to each other.
'academic chap' becomes 'don' (I am not sure about the 'academic' bit.).
'on'+'an'+'don'='ON AND ON'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for on and on that I've seen before include "Endlessly" , "Unceasingly" , "At tedious length" , "Continuing or continually" , "continuously" .)
