Permitted, indeed, to be scrubbed (7)
I believe the answer is:
deleted
'be scrubbed' is the definition.
'permitted indeed' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'permitted' could be 'let' (to let something happen is to permit it) and 'let' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'deed' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for deleted that I've seen before include "Expunged" , "Removed" , "Effaced" , "Erased" , "Struck out" .)
