Crossword Genius

Pitch from politician on spots rejected (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

encamp

'pitch' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'politician on spots rejected' is the wordplay.
'politician' becomes 'pm' (short for prime minister).
'on' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'spots' becomes 'acne' (skin condition causing spots).
'rejected' shows that the letters should be reversed in order.
'pm'+'acne'='pmacne'
'pmacne' in reverse letter order is 'ENCAMP'.

'from' is the link.

(Other definitions for encamp that I've seen before include "Establish tented accommodation (for soldiers)" , "Settle under canvas" , "Settle in tents" , "Bedroom illuminator" , "Bivouac" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
