Place down under (5)
I believe the answer is:
neath
'under' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'place down' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'down' could be 'eat' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'eat' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for neath that I've seen before include "Lower than - a town in West Glamorgan" , "town in South Wales" , "Welsh team" , "Under (poetic)" , "Welsh industrial town" .)
