Plan home with less than a shilling! (6)
I believe the answer is:
intend
'plan' is the definition.
(intending is a kind of planning)
'home with less than a shilling' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'home' could be 'in' ('he's home' can mean 'he's in') and 'in' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'tend' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for intend that I've seen before include "Have as purpose or plan" , "Have as purpose or in mind" , "Have as purpose or resolve" , "1 dn [DESIGN]" , "Aim, plan" .)
