Crossword Genius

Played radiant prelude (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

intrada

'prelude' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'played radiant' is the wordplay.
'played' indicates anagramming the letters (letters playing around).
'radiant' anagrammed gives 'INTRADA'.

(Another definition for intrada that I've seen is " Opening piece; prelude".)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
