coffin

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'the dead men go' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with contact as well as being verbs in their base form.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'played very loudly in county home it goes down in the ground' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'loudly' could be 'ff' (short for fortissimo - 'very loud' in music) and 'ff' is found in the answer.
'in' is present in the answer.
'county' could be 'co' and 'co' is found in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'where' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for coffin that I've seen before include "Casket for the dead" , "Sarcophagus" , "Box for burial" , "Box for the dead" , "Corpse's chest" .)
