Possible clue to tablet found in war zone (12)
I believe the answer is:
battleground
'in war zone' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both locations as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps there's a link between them I don't understand?
'possible clue to tablet' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'tablet' is 'battle' which is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ground' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'found' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for battleground that I've seen before include "Area of conflict" , "Place of military encounter" , "scene of conflict" , "where action has taken place" , "Army hospital near here perhaps" .)
