Power missing from quickfire attack (4)
I believe the answer is:
raid
'attack' is the definition.
(raiding is a kind of attacking)
'power missing from quickfire' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'power' could be 'id' (id is a kind of power) and 'id' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'ra' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for raid that I've seen before include "Rifle" , "Invasion" , "Maraud" , "Assault, attack" , "Stock Exchange activity" .)
