Ross

I believe the answer is:

heat up

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'prepare' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both related to change as well as being verbs in their base form.
Maybe there's an association between them I don't understand?

'leftovers hot consume fully' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'hot' could be 'h' (abbreviation eg on taps) and 'h' is found in the answer.
'consume' could be 'eatup' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'eatup' is present in the answer.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for heat up that I've seen before include "Warm through" , "Make more intense" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
