Pressure inside beetle? Vet needed! (7)
I believe the answer is:
inspect
'pressure' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are verbs in their base form, I don't understand how one could define the other.
'inside beetle? vet needed' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'inside' could be 'in' and 'in' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for inspect that I've seen before include "Go over" , "Look over carefully" , "Examine or survey" , "Carefully examine" , "Look critically at" .)
