Crossword Genius

Prestige of queen visiting monument (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

stature

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'prestige' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'of queen visiting monument' is the wordplay.
'of queen' becomes 'r' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'visiting' is an insertion indicator.
'monument' becomes 'statue' (I've seen this before).
'r' inserted inside 'statue' is 'STATURE'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for stature that I've seen before include "Body height or high reputation" , "Importance, reputation" , "Natural standing height" , "Treat us (anag)" , "Height - prestige" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
