Produced, to make the hole with (4)
I believe the answer is:
bore
'hole with' is the definition.
'bore' can be an answer for 'hole' (hole can mean to bore a hole). I am not sure about the 'with' bit.
I cannot understand how the remainder of the clue works.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bore that I've seen before include "Wearisome person" , "Pierce - weary - tidal flood" , "Tidal wave; drill" , "No fun" , "Dull person; use a drill" .)
