Professor prepared to share female's earnings (6)
I believe the answer is:
'earnings' is the definition.
'professor prepared to share female's' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'prepared' could be 'fit' (fit can mean prepared or able) and 'fit' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'pro' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
