Prophet's revered bone, maybe, uncovered on return pilgrimage (6)
I believe the answer is:
elijah
'prophet's' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'uncovered on return pilgrimage' is the wordplay.
'uncovered' becomes 'eli' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'on return' says the letters should be written in reverse.
'pilgrimage' becomes 'haj' (haj is a kind of pilgrimage).
'haj' back-to-front is 'jah'.
'eli'+'jah'='ELIJAH'
'revered bone maybe' is the link.
This may not be correct. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for elijah that I've seen before include "he prophesied" , "Hebrew prophet in the time of Jezebel" , "Old Testament prophet" , "OT, Islamic prophet" , "Hebrew prophet who rebuked Ahab and Jezebel" .)
