Provide home for con, understand? (4,2)
I believe the answer is:
take in
'understand?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'provide home for con' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'home' could be 'in' (to be in is to be (at) home) and 'in' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'take' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for take in that I've seen before include "Register (information)" , "Shelter - hoodwink" , "Grasp - admit - fool" , "Enclose; deceive" , "Cheat" .)
