Provide money for an object (4)
I believe the answer is:
lend
'provide' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'money for an object' is the wordplay.
'money' becomes 'l' (L can mean 'pounds').
'for' says to put letters next to each other.
'an object' becomes 'end' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'l'+'end'='LEND'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lend that I've seen before include "Impart" , "contribute" , "Offer" , "Give the use of for a time" , "Let someone borrow" .)
