Pulled off by the artist? (5)
I believe the answer is:
drawn
'pulled' is the definition.
('draw' can be a synonym of 'pull')
'off by the artist?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'artist?' could be 'ra' (Royal Academician, member of Royal Academy of Arts) and 'ra' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for drawn that I've seen before include "Described" , "Tired and worn" , "Represented as" , "Looking strained, sketched" , "Depicted - haggard" .)
