I cannot really see how this works, but
'company' could be 'co' (abbreviation) and 'co' is found in the answer.
'pupil' could be 'l' and 'l' is present in the answer.
an anagram of 'anodyne' is 'nandoye' which is located in the left over letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
