Put away by school, say (5)
I believe the answer is:
eaten
'put away' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'by school say' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'by' could be 'at' and 'at' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'een' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eaten that I've seen before include "having enjoyed dinner?" , "Put away" , "demolished, possibly" , "worried" , "What's taken in" .)
