Put pressure on more than ever (5)
I believe the answer is:
lever
'put pressure' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how they can define each other.
'on more than ever' is the wordplay.
'on' says to put letters next to each other.
'more than' becomes 'l' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'l' put next to 'ever' is 'LEVER'.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lever that I've seen before include "Prise using bar" , "Lifting bar pivoted on a fulcrum" , "Lifting device to revel in" , "Jemmy" , "Bar turning on a fulcrum" .)
