Putting an end to baksheesh (7)
I believe the answer is:
tipping
'putting' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with ownership as well as being present participle verbs.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'an end to baksheesh' is the wordplay.
'an end' becomes 'tip' (tip is a kind of end).
'to baksheesh' becomes 'ping' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'tip'+'ping'='TIPPING'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tipping that I've seen before include "Giving a gratuity" , "Rewarding service" .)
