Queue consists of two ends (8)
I believe the answer is:
tailback
'queue' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Queue of cars ' mean 'tailback' so perhaps 'queue' could also mean 'tailback')
'two ends' is the wordplay.
'two ends' means two replacements for 'end'.
'end' becomes 'tail' (tail is a kind of end).
'end' becomes 'back' (back can mean the end of something).
'tail'+'back'='TAILBACK'
'consists of' acts as a link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tailback that I've seen before include "Sort of jam" , "Traffic hold-up" , "Lack a bit (anag.)" , "Long queue of traffic" , "delayed traffic" .)
