I believe the answer is:

pekingese

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'family dog' is the definition.
'Pekingese' can be an answer for 'dog' (Pekingese is an example). I'm not certain of the 'family' bit.

'quiet geese disturbed with interruption' is the wordplay.
'quiet' becomes 'p' (music symbol for 'piano', ie soft or quiet).
'disturbed' is an anagram indicator.
'with' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'interruption' becomes 'kin' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'geese' anagrammed gives 'egese'.
'egese' going around 'kin' is 'ekingese'.
'p'+'ekingese'='PEKINGESE'

'by' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for pekingese that I've seen before include "Small dog (from China?)" , "Mandarin" , "Snub-nosed lapdog" , "Barker" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
