Crossword Genius

Quiet nursing home, very small (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

minute

'very small' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'quiet nursing home' is the wordplay.
'quiet' becomes 'mute' (I've seen this in other clues).
'nursing' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'home' becomes 'in' ('he's home' can mean 'he's in').
'mute' enclosing 'in' is 'MINUTE'.

(Other definitions for minute that I've seen before include "Extremely small" , "Tiny - proportion of time" , "Occupying very little space" , "microscopic" , "Sixty seconds" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
