I believe the answer is:

fellow traveller

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'weaver' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both people as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'radical thought about poor' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'radical' could be 'r' (chemistry abbreviation) and 'r' is found within the answer.
'about' could be 'a' (abbreviation in Chambers) and 'a' is found in the answer.
'poor' could be 'low' (similar in meaning) and 'low' is located in the answer.
'thought' could be 'felt' (feeling is a kind of thinking) and 'felt' is found in the leftover letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for fellow traveller that I've seen before include "we meet on the 4.50 from Paddington?" , "Leftist sympathiser" , "possibly 18 [PARTISAN]" , "Communist sympathiser" , "left supporter" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times and The Sunday Times.
