Radioactive element named after a Norse god (7)
I believe the answer is:
thorium
'radioactive element' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'named after a norse god' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'god' could be 'thor' (Thor is an example) and 'thor' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for thorium that I've seen before include "chemical" , "source of radioactivity" , "A source of nuclear power" , "Radioactive element -- rout him (anag)" , "Radioactive metal, Th" .)
