Raised, only to be stolen (6)
I believe the answer is:
lifted
This might be a double definition.
'raised only' is the first definition.
'lifted' can be an answer for 'raised' ('lift' can be a synonym of 'raise'). I am unsure of the 'only' bit.
'be stolen' is the second definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'to' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lifted that I've seen before include "Held up" , "Picked up" , "Informally stole or copies" , "Raised up or informally stolen" , "Raised to a higher position" .)
