Ran through Kent area? Tried again to tour it (9)
I believe the answer is:
rehearsed
'ran through' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'tried again to tour it' is the wordplay.
'tried again' becomes 'reheard' ('heard' can be a synonym for 'tried' so perhaps 'reheard' is OK for 'tried again').
'to tour' means one lot of letters goes inside another (to tour can mean to go around).
'it' becomes 'se' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'reheard' placed around 'se' is 'REHEARSED'.
'kent area?' acts as a link.
This may not be right. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for rehearsed that I've seen before include "went over" , "Practiced (a play)" , "Front-rear axle distance" , "Practised for public performance" .)
