Random way to deliberately lose in archery? (7)
I believe the answer is:
aimless
'random' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'way to deliberately lose in archery?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'way' could be 'aim' (aim is a kind of way) and 'aim' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'less' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for aimless that I've seen before include "Drifting with no purpose" , "not knowing where to go?" , "Like characters in 5D {WAITING FOR GODOT]" , "With no plan or programme" , "Melissa (anag) -- unmotivated" .)
