Recipients of award, initially enervated and overweight (5)
I believe the answer is:
obese
'overweight' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'recipients of award initially' is the wordplay.
'recipients of' becomes 'se' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'award' becomes 'OBE' (Order of the British Empire).
'initially' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other) (some letters go before others).
'se' put after 'obe' is 'OBESE'.
'enervated and' is the link.
This may not be correct. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for obese that I've seen before include "Clinically overweight" , "Needing to lose weight" , "Morbidly fat" , "Morbidly overweight" , "Too chubby" .)
