Reckless plan to capture aide-de-camp (6)
I believe the answer is:
madcap
'reckless' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'plan to capture aide-de-camp' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'aide' could be 'adc' and 'adc' is found in the answer.
'plan' could be 'map' (plan can mean a map of something) and 'map' is present in the remaining letters.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for madcap that I've seen before include "Hothead" , "Oddball" , "Wild fellow" , "Reckless girl" , "Harum-scarum" .)
