Record-breaker railing about name (9)
![Ross](/clue/static/ross-mug.min.png)
I believe the answer is:
bannister
'record-breaker railing' is the definition.
'bannister' can be an answer for 'railing' (bannister is a kind of railing). I am unsure of the 'record-breaker' bit.
'name' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'name' could be 'annis' and 'annis' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'about' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bannister that I've seen before include "Handrail on a staircase" , "safety feature for flight" , "Sir Roger --, first sub-four-minute miler" , "Roger --, four-minute miler" , "Railing on a staircase" .)
