Refuse to massage head of the diocese and lose little work (7)
I believe the answer is:
rubbish
'refuse' is the definition.
(I know that refuse can be written as rubbish)
'massage head of the diocese and lose little work' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'massage' could be 'rub' (rub can mean to massage) and 'rub' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'bish' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for rubbish that I've seen before include "Waste matter" , "Refuse, litter" , "Nonsense or refuse" , "of exceedingly low quality" , "Garbage or trash" .)
