let it all hang out

'relax' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'allow independent solicitor to handle every alteration when case is dismissed' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'allow' could be 'let' (synonyms) and 'let' is present in the answer.
'independent' could be 'i' and 'i' is present in the answer.
'every' could be 'all' (similar in meaning) and 'all' is found within the answer.
'when' could be 'than' ('than' can mean 'when' in some constructions) and 'than' is located in the leftover letters.
'dismissed' could be 'out' (dismissed in cricket) and 'out' is located in the answer.
A single letter 'g' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'and' acts as a link.
