Remembered and rang for a baby-sitter? (6,2,4)
I believe the answer is:
called to mind
'remembered' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with communicating as well as being past participle verbs.
Perhaps there's a link between them I don't understand?
'rang for a baby-sitter?' is the wordplay.
'rang' becomes 'called' ('call' can be a synonym of 'ring').
'for' becomes 'to' (eg both can mean 'in the opinion of').
'a baby-sitter?' becomes 'mind' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'called'+'to'+'mind'='CALLED TO MIND'
'and' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for called to mind that I've seen is " Recollected".)
