Reserve time in holiday area (3,5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

set aside

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'reserve' is the definition.
(I know that reserve can be written as set aside)

'time in holiday area' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'time' could be 't' (abbreviation) and 't' is located in the answer.
'area' could be 'seaside' (I have seen 'Coastal area' mean 'seaside' so perhaps 'area' could also mean 'seaside') and 'seaside' is found within the leftover letters.
No letters remain.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for set aside that I've seen before include "Lay by" , "Reserve for future use" , "not productive land" , "Farm land taken out of production" , "agricultural policy" .)

I've seen this clue in The Sun.
