Resin reponsible for mother's nervous condition? (6)
I believe the answer is:
mastic
'resin' is the definition.
(I know that mastic is a plant resin)
'reponsible for mother's nervous condition?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'mother's' could be 'mas' (ma can mean mother) and 'mas' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'tic' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for mastic that I've seen before include "Substance applied to joints" , "liquor" , "Mouldable cement" , "Aromatic resin used to make varnish" , "Resin used in varnishes" .)
