Respite from work, which is not going well? (3,3)
I believe the answer is:
off day
'which is not going well?' is the definition.
(an off day is a bad day)
'respite from work' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'from' could be 'off' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'off' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'day' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
(Other definitions for off day that I've seen before include "Some leave" , "when one's not at one's best?" .)
