Restriction lifted — that is, for eating good creamy dessert (7,3)
I believe the answer is:
banoffi pie
'creamy dessert' is the definition.
(banoffi pie is a type of dessert)
'restriction lifted that is for eating good' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'restriction' could be 'ban' (a ban is a restriction on something) and 'ban' is located in the answer.
'good' could be 'pi' (old-fashioned term for pious) and 'pi' is found within the answer.
'that is' could be 'ie' (short for Latin 'id est', 'that is') and 'ie' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'off' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
