Ross

I believe the answer is:

oysters

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'reticent individuals' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are plural nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.

'toys first after earnings related supplement' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'toys' is 'oyst' which is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ers' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'put' is the link.

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
