Revolutionary line fewer than ten back (5)
I believe the answer is:
lenin
'revolutionary' is the definition.
(I know that Lenin has the occupation revolutionary)
'line fewer than ten back' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'line' is 'leni' which is located in the answer.
A single letter 'n' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lenin that I've seen before include "Early Soviet leader" , "Russian revolutionary" , "First Soviet leader" , "Soviet Union's first premier" , "Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, d. 1924" .)
